Home to Kintyre

Far have I travelled and much have I seen;
darkness of valleys with mountains of green,
vast painted deserts, the sunsets on fire,
as he carries me home to the Mull of Kintyre.
Paul McCartney

God's Earth is wond'rous all over the globe,
I weep to behold it, you know what I mean?
Breath-taking visions, wherever you go;
Far have I travelled and much have I seen.

Glacial formations with prisms of fire,
majestic stone palaces, fit for a queen;
wild, winding rivers meander between,
darkness of valleys with mountains of green.

Clouds in their great glory billow and furl,
sharp, pointed pinnacle, resembling church spire,
verdant, lush rain-forests, teeming with life,
vast painted deserts, the sunsets on fire.

As I travel homeward, sights warm my heart,
loving here waits for me, all my desire.
The mist rolling in from the sea welcomes me,
as he carries me home to the Mull of Kintyre.
