SELF REFLECTION

Where did she go the little girl
Growing up too fast I know
Wondering what became of her
When did she have to go

Where did she go the teenager
The years just flew on by
Wondering what became of her
Where did she go and why

Where did she go the wife
Even though she was so young
Wondering what became of her
Leaving songs yet unsung

Where did she go the mother
I'm thinking she's still there
Wondering what became of her
Does not bring any despair

Where did she go the woman
Who loved life ; enjoyed each day
Wondering what became of her
Leaves nothing to dismay

Where did she go the grandmother
She's always been right there
Wondering what became of her
She spends much time in loving prayer

Where did she go the great-grandma
Just open up your eyes, you'll see
Wondering what became of her
She's all wrapped up in me

Where did she go the poet
The lover of the words pon page
Wondering what became of her
Still writing even at her age

Where did they go these women
That loved with much affection
Wondering what became of them
In the mirror she sees reflection

Time goes by - we wonder where
Your young and then your old
Wondering what became of years
Time spent weaving silver to gold

For what is the measure of life
You could ask her friends or family
Wondering what became of her
She's here - I know -for that is me
