Momma's Wildfire

Supper on the stove
It's half past six
where's the family at?
they are all in a fix

Momma's not happy
the food is almost done
but the family is no where to be found
momma's patience is all gone

Now it's seven
the food sits on the table cold
if only the family knew
that momma's temper's got ahold

Now it's seven-thirty
they all come strollin' in
by the look on momma's face
the wildfire's about to begin

No one says a word
not a peep is said
cause just one look from momma
could leave you cold stone dead

So supper went like this
cold and hard to chew
but warmth was in the kitchen
as momma's 'wildfire' continued to stew

Written for the challenge 'Tune Up'
using the song 'Wildfire'

Moral of the story....if you can't stand the
heat in the kitchen, you'd better get to supper
on time!! LOL
