LOVE SHADOWS
I loved you from the very first
I saw you standing there
Don't know why, I just know
It was a breathing of fresh air
So long that I had been alone
Could I dare wish that you
Would somehow find me also
Sharing simple things we do
You did! and I was thankful
Our love blossomed from the start
I had so little to give you
But the capture of my heart
For years we played our love song
For it played continuously
If it were not for your tenderness
I would have stayed lost you see
Now I am right back there
As I play the lonesome songs
Of how their love had ended
One cannot right the wrongs
Crying in my pillow
Each night thinking of you
Within the shadow of our love
Something I find that I just do
True love is a gift that keeps on giving
And surely as I breathe this air
I wish that we were still together
Close my eyes...and you are there
Never felt this way before
Hope that I never feel this pain
Our love, tis lost, but painfully
I still wish for it again
