The Isle of Somewhere

SultryRose's Signatures

I have always known there really is
A place I want to go
It is reached only after one
Journeys down a long, steep and perilous pathway

There the gold of the day shakes hands with
The luxurious deep purple shadows
Of a calm and peaceful night

A place

Where rain and bitter storms exist no more
Where all one’s teardrops are dried
Where loves presides and smiles
Become the order of the day

When the young and old among us
Are loved, honored and respected
And accorded the value that rightfully
Belongs to them and them alone

Someplace serene,

Where war is no more
And the blue birds of peace
Sings songs of freedom and brotherhood
Where men are equal regardless
Of color, race or creed

Where truthfulness and wisdom
Becomes the goverment of each land
Evident in their dealings with each other

Where flags of no nation fly
At half mast to honor those
Dead in the horror of the battlefield
Or in the awful storms that assail the land

Because I believe
In the promises of love

Delivered to earth
On the wings of a snow white dove
So many long long years ago

I will climb until my legs are weary
My body frail and weak
I will march on past the doubts and fears
That persist in my every day life
Until I can journey no more

Then I know my heavenly father
Will carry me safe in the arms of love
Cross the burning sands in the corridor of time
Till I reach the promised land

That waits there for me
That’s right, just over there
Across the bridge of sighs
That leads to the end of the rainbow

Where at last I can lay my burdens down
To rest my weary mind
Safe at home at last ,
In my heavenly
Home sweet , sweet home.!
