Tell Me Again

Artwork by E.R. Hughes 'Day'

Tell me again
those whispered promises
(the ones that tell why you fell in love with me)
as you curl
golden threads of my ringlets
round your finger
and smile that smile
I can't resist.

Hold me again
for the umpteenth night
as the moon
bathes the room
in lustrous light
and you sigh that sigh
epitomizing contentment.

Sing to me again
be my syntax
my guilty pleasure
the temptation that inspires
with newborn lust
each and every time.

- - Yes, my darling, tell me again - -
