~* Flash Dance ~*~

~~~***~~~
You tried to tell me
But would I listen?
About the world of Broadway
And the path that oft' times glistens
~
So star struck in my mind
A maniac on a way to a play
Dancing like I have never danced before
Wanting to make it on: The Great White Way
~
Stage center--to centrally located
Strobe lights they flashed in throbbing rants
In a glistening costume that glittered I do my best
As I perform my jazzed up flash dance
~
Off stage I was patted on my back
Told to return and try again
The brush off was a raw look at reality
A flash in the pan is more what I had been
~
I am no Jennifer Beale
Capable of so many other things
Broadway will just have to wait
As I too wait--to see what tomorrow might bring
