i planted my feet on your shore
with nothing just a plain lowly man
now ~ all that i have, i owe you everything
the opportunities is limitless
thank you U.S. of A. ~ for the opportunity
the privilege to serve you was an honor
to defend your ideals, mankind's freedom and liberty
to foreign lands you sent me, i didn't mind
it was my duty, when i signed the dotted line
it was my choice, no one else's, with clear mind
it was mine alone, to show my gratitude
at first it was so hard to adapt and meld
it was a struggle to leave my love ones
but your side is heavier on the balance
it was a sacrifice but never regret
your were always the vanguard of the oppressed
the big brother of those weak and least fortunate
USA National Anthem

those camouflaged dangers lurking
upon the misty night
with those unknown phantom eyes
where silence was so deafening
just my reliable rifle, my enemies and the sky
feeling each other, as time went by
the agony, the anxiety made a grown man cry
day in, day out the routine was the same
can not afford mistakes, they were forbidden
stayed focus, no second chance was given
either you or the enemy ~
...survival was the name of the game
complacency was not a word taken so lightly
it was a downfall a grave discourse
which can not be resurrect at any given time
if one slipped even for a fleeting moment
lives were at stake~senses were at their highest alert
inplant in your being was teamwork to protect
each other ~ this was a vow, a covenant
the images of my comrades imprinted in my heart
they will be there to stay, we laughed and cried
we did our things like no one else's business
as if there was no tomorrow, for we were bonded
true brothers in arms we were
those frightening ordeals are gone now
they are memories of the past, forgotten
buried with the aches and pains, conflicts bring
but if needed, i won't hesitate dear U.S.A.
...for you, i will do it again
the ride was enjoyable, no regret at all
the chance to see the world was priceless
to learn other cultures, the warmth of people's love
was beyond any payment one will ever received
so today ~ the fourth of july 2009...
let me wish you with ardent love and affection
happy happy birthday US of A!
