As I Sit

As I sit here looking at an empty piece of
paper, willing the words to come. Words
flowing through my mind. It has been so long
since they have formed on the
page before me.

I often wonder do they ever touch the
heart, or take a person to the soaring
heights of their imagination.
Do they ever bring a smile
of joy in love?

Often tears come to my eyes
as I have written words in tribute
to a loved one. Reminding
myself that they live in the
memories of my heart.

A wise one once told me don't
force the words let them flow
when they are ready. They
will come. As I sit here
pen in hand I wonder
when.

Have you ever wanted to bring
comfort to a grieving heart?
Finding the understanding
is there, but the words are lost
in shared tears.

Each night dreams come filled
with adventure and fantasy. Only
to wake in the dawn of day to
watch them bid farewell. As my
memory tries to hold on to
them

As I sit here looking at an empty piece of
paper, willing the words to come.
I remember they will come
when it is time. In the
twinkle of a silver
star.
