Take Flight
Metamorphosis, Transformation, Change
Once seemed Distant, Impossible, Strange
As I look back now how far away it seems
Since the scared caterpillar of yesterday
Became the butterfly of fulfilled dreams
Delicate wings set life’s purpose in motion
Landing me safely upon petals of devotion
Freedom to this butterfly who struggled much
Light and airy among many flowers of possibility
Ethereal moments far too dream like to touch
Sometimes I feel caterpillar within holding my hand
Perhaps the only one who can really understand
Butterfly’s fears in this miraculous land
Adapting to this change so vast and grand
Assuming an identity I had not really planned
Every day a bit easier to adapt and change
Butterfly instead of caterpillar seems less strange
Wings of splendor feel like my own design
Change gave me freedom, transformed my life
Today I resign my fears giving myself freedom to shine
Ascending with gifted wings….this flight is meant to be mine
