Midnight Connection
Being our first dinner date at his place
I really didn't know what to expect
candles set low...
champagne on ice...
soft music...
'n scent of after shave...
all invited romance
his eyes met mine
as bouquet of roses
was placed in my hand
followed by...
a smile...
soft kiss on cheek
his manly yet gentle hands
slid wrap off my shoulders
then led me to dinner table
arm tucked 'round waste
being a gentleman
he pulled out chair
then rested his hands
on bare shoulders
with ever warm breath
kissing nape of neck
my huge smile
tiptoed
into girlish fantasy
'n feminine desire
with tingling thoughts
of what was yet to come
across the table
from where I sat...
his mesmerizing smile
danced in champagne bubbles
putting sparkle
in big brown eyes
our quiet evening
filled with togetherness
caused me to lose myself
in shadows of his smile
each and ev'ry glance
caressed my being
with a true happiness
enveloping
my soul
butterflies flittered
as fingers brushed
lips teasingly...
slowly making way
down my spine
silhouettes
danced 'round the room
bodies held close
in lovers waltz
and as eyes met
sweet champagne kisses
made love
on tips of tongues
romance
echoed into
the night
with promises
of evermore
written
in the stars....
I knew....he knew
somewhere 'tween
red roses
'n after dinner waltz
we felt our hearts touch
molding that special
connection
where two become one
in perfect harmony
