Woeful Unrevision

Dare not a query into the editor's block
of the utterly nettling creature that is my heart;
designed ever to pine upon which it has imprinted,
with not much of a reward, but that of which I am afflicted—
with jocular delights heaped into a slush pile of memories,
un-proofed, unwanted and quite a haunting mimicry
to an illusion of love so unscrupulously lent—
your existence, an agent to the folly you represent.
