Born Believer

The ocean songs had silenced
trees stood weeping, still
seagulls hovered restlessly
air was silence filled

waves of sadness lingered
eyes stung of salty tears
visions were uncertain
depression waltzed with fear

melancholy sunsets
aloneness, lost at sea
turbulence, rough waters
hidden mysteries

~ ~ ~ ~

Conviction for survival
a warrior within
faith and hope stood solid
worries tossed to wind

inner strength replenished
fought the raging storm
death would be no victor
'stead, life would be reborn

a new day softly whispers
sweetest lullabies
mermaids dance with Glory
as illness hops the tide

~ ~ ~ ~

Moonbeams kiss warm waters
sighs echo t'ween the trees
manatees and dolphins
promenade on beach

brave California Dreamer
now striding with each step
a natural born believer
never giving up

we sing our many praises
from 'cross the distant shores
and thank the Lord in Heaven
new lease on life restored
