Everlasting Friendship

You came to me when needed
dissolved all inner fear
across the bridge of friendship
did dry my every tear

never did you judge me
'stead reached out, took my hand
showed new light, gave courage
strength to take a stand

along the way I've stumbled
full of hurt and pain
you fixed the broken pieces
made me whole again

my heart once torn and shattered
soul was lost, confused
felt worthless and unwanted,
alone in big ole world

yet...
we made a heart connection
minds worked much alike
sharing pain 'n laughter
since we met that night

revealed our deepest secrets
re-opened battle scars
shared hopes 'n dreams of future
helped each other fly

uncertainties still linger
'n perhaps I'll fall again
but have no doubt I'll make it
because of you, my friend

an Angel sent from Heaven
your worth you'll never know
mornings wake to sunshine
stars waltz in rainbows hue

you make heart smile, feel happy
unafraid to face each day
build esteem, self confidence
somehow believe in me

if ever we have a parting
and go our separate ways
for always I'll remember
the friendship road we paved
