Get Rid Of The Advertisements

The Artist

Ches, my friend, the craftsman
deftly applies his saw,
shaping, coaxing the fragile bone
into a perfect dingo paw.

Each cut made with precision,
concentration on leathery face;
Ches has made some changes in his life
since he first came to our place.

With careful strokes and gentle,
Ches applies his file,
smiling as he works away,
then stops and stares a while.

With tiny cuts into the bone
he shapes an eagle’s beak,
silent in his fixedness,
the artist needs not speak.

Taking finest sanding paper,
patiently he toils;
the bones so dry and brittle,
devoid of natural oils.

Magnificent creations,
delicate and frail;
but who could really appreciate
the fine work they entail ?

They reflect the heart of gentleness
of a patient, caring man.
I wish him joy and blessedness,
for I know that is God’s plan.

Dedicated to
Ceslovas Ramanauskas,
Lithuanian gentleman
and dear friend.
