Get Rid Of The Advertisements

On Aging

Aging is something that happens
with the normal course of living.
What you take from the life you're allotted
depends how much you are giving.

Little pains start niggling in your joints,
assembling together for battle.
Knees knock together in agony
and the loose bits groan and rattle.

It gets hard to climb into the car
and harder still to get out.
You begin to wonder if you are 'aging with grace'
and what all that fuss is about.

You don a mask of carefree smiles,
one of life's varied disguises
and deal with the issue the best you can
the day the problem arises.

Climbing into the shower is challenging,
the step up appears higher each day.
One day I'll have to get it lowered
if I can find the means to pay.
