In Remembrance

Her scribbles put on paper
ink spilling ev'ry thought
'bout rainy days 'n rainbows
love 'n broken hearts

She rode on clouds
of fantasy
played in pastures green
swam beside blue dolphins
had many hopes
'n dreams

Spoke softly in remembrance
of those who passed before
clung tight to every memory
danced in days of yore

The pen was her salvation
lover of the night
together they made music
'til early
morning light

She lived
within the moment
as if her very last
strived for peace
'n harmony
made time to play
'n laugh

Loved to ride
on carousels
make castles in the sand
enjoyed soft sounds
of nature
beauty
of homeland

She'd pen her heart
on parchment
with smiles
or salty tears
tidbits of her being
long gone yesteryears

Relished ev'ning sunsets
wishing 'pon the stars
loved sweet scent of roses
friendships,
near and far

Butterflies aflutter
songbirds on a vine
soft serenades
of ocean
gave a piece of mind

She had a love for children
'n older folk alike
believed in the impossible
within the dark,
there's light

Her moods wore many colors
like flowers in the spring
but mostly
she was cheerful
allowing heart
to sing

In silence of the morning
with pen in hand,
she'd write
releasing inner feelings
like eagles
taking flight

Living life her passion
although just borrowed time
it's written
in her poetry
on and t'ween
each line

Yes, through the years she scribbled
her heart 'n soul in rhyme
her gift to you in memory
when the last bell chimes

Precious are the moments
she spent
with each of you
like rainbow skies
in summer
with everlasting
hue

So weep
not of her passing
these words she left behind
were meant
to be of comfort
until the
bye 'n bye
