There on the stage is my beautiful grandaughter
Doing what I used to do
Living the life she freely wants
She told me 'I want to be like you'

Years ago when I was a girl
A ballerina I had wanted to be
Fate took that right out of my hands
When my bycycle and I collided with a tree

They mended my legs and I tried to dance
Sadly it wasn't to be
My legs had no strength in them any more
So my career sadly went out of the door

When Emilia came along so pretty and dainty
Showing promise right from the start
I knew I had to say goodbye to yesterday's dreams
But in Emilia I see a miniture me....
