Time Of The Season

Cold crisp winds came stealing
And purloined painted leaves,
Leaving cold and shivering naked
All of the towering trees.

Squirrels are gathering acorns.
Summer birds have flown away.
Snowflakes are falling softly
On this October day.

It's that time of the season.
Days become shorter too.
Winter's on its way now.
The sky is not so blue.

I can envision better things.
A fireplace glowing bright.
Your arms encircling me
All through the night.

Cold crisp winds came stealing,
Changing landscapes drastically.
What care I if it's fall or winter.
When you are here with me.
