GOODNIGHT - GOODNIGHT
Off to bed our little man
Pride of the starlite family
Taking teddy to tuck in
Off to bed it has to be ....
It's hard when your seven
Giving up to go 'goodnight'
You'd rather be playing games and such
Or reading your poems on Starlite
So many poets reaching out
To such a precious little boy
He sends his smiles; shows his thanks
Our hearts just burst with joy
Tiny Teddy's little Joey
Keeps her busy every day
For that is just how life is
When he 'works' and when he plays
Most of the poems written for him
He can read each and every word
Some words might make him stumble
Just because they've not been heard
What is it that makes this child
And other's like him at this age
Even though their very young
Somehow you see the 'sage'
My eyes light up when I get mail
New pictures of our little man
God has blessed us all so much
By knowing him, you understand
Well, just a little night/night hug
And I am off to bed myself tonight
No little bear - but tinke and sass
Just waiting for me to turn out the light
So goodnight Joey, goodnight Mommy,
Good night Eddie ... good night all
May you have angels on your pillows
Perhaps tomorrow you can call ....
and I love you so.................
