Get Rid Of The Advertisements

from dust to ashes

sketch of
the late
Byrle Keelan,
my poet
friend
1937-2002

I, the
perennial
loner didn't
have many
friends
when Byrle
Keelan
came into
substance
upon the
invisible
ham
radio
two meter
band,
as we became
real genuine
friends
from two
miles apart,
and it 'twas
bizarre
how his
many special
friends
'n so called
buddies
fled~~~~~~~
his presence
to whom
knows where
within that
desert city
without pity
when his only
lonely
answer
was his
cancer,
and they
came
in silent
numbers
to the wake
for friendship
sake?

Yes
I guess
that all
were there,
the guilty
ones
whom were
his naught
eternal
friends
unto the end,
and 'twas
bizarre,
as the preacher
said, 'he was
smiling down
from Heaven.'

From dust
to ashes,
and he
had vanished
and I the only
one that stayed
around
as we two
prayed~~~~~~
for healing
from disease
that came
a stealing~~~~
everything he
owned,
and even
ended talks
upon the
telephone
when tried
so hard
to lift his
spirits
of one dying
crying~~~~
poets soul.

From dust
to ashes,
and he
vanished~~~~~
from the
scene
we dream,
'n within
a moment
gone,
from dawn
'til dusk
it happens
everyday
all across
the world
of non-
disclosure
real,
and do you
get the feel?
