ONE NATION UNDER GOD by Nancy Lynam

We are...’one nation under God’, but we are captives of much that is not of God if we choose to push him out of our lives. Pondering this writing, I first prayed for ‘divine guidance’...to affect the great people of this great country...”our United States of America”. I prayed for words that will be heard and understood...not ignored and misunderstood. I prayed for understanding by those whose hearts are touched by this plea...and by those who are curious and deeply concerned about our country’s future...that it be read with sincere and heart-felt energy from which I am writing this...not arrogance or evil purposes.

My faith as a Christian does not limit my thinking to just “Christians”, but to all “people of faith”. I also include “people without faith” in my concerns for our country. I love this country I was so fortunate to have been born into. I thank God often for that blessing and many others in my life. From my perspective, perhaps the condition of our country is because we have taken for granted all that we have always enjoyed...thinking it will always be here. It is sometimes when we are threatened with losing our blessings that we lose control, and evil forces can take hold. It can also be a time to reconnect with the source of our blessings. If nothing more than for the idea of “change” sounding like a good thing enticing a slowly weakening nation, it was able to do so because we were not paying attention. We have become rather complacent about our freedoms...always leaving it up to someone else to fight the fight. I do not want to point a finger. I do not want to blame any one, any entity, any society or any evil forces for the mess our country is in....except to acknowledge that we, ourselves, have also taken God for granted. I want to look to a future, and in doing so, we need to look back.

We need to reacquaint ourselves with the paperwork that our forefathers so aptly and wisely planned for this great nation. It may be the single most extraordinary time of brilliance when our forefathers created our United States of America’s Constitution. We need to re-examine all efforts put forth by our forefathers...efforts which have allowed us to prosper and grow to be the most blessed place on earth. It is the tangible proof that all things done with God’s blessings are of utmost perfection. It is very clear that their efforts were enhanced by ‘divine guidance’. It is also very clear and imperative that we, as a nation, get back to our roots, defend ourselves with our Constitution, re-establish our values and reconnect with the foundations of our faiths. Without doing these things, we are doomed; but praying for our deliverance from the chains of greed, corruption and self-righteousness will set us free and give us our country back.

As a nation of a very diverse population, we have always welcomed those from foreign countries to come to ‘this land of opportunity’. It is through our much contemplated laws for fairness that this opportunity has thrived for many generations. Anyone coming to America has had so much opportunity to prosper and thrive; thus...adding to our nation’s success and prosperity. During more recent times, the influx of illegal foreigners has cost everyone so much. We, the American people, do not begrudge anyone the chance to come here; but not enforcing a system that has worked for a couple of hundred years has quickly eroded our way of life. Greed and selfishness have taken deep roots in many individuals. Life and the quality thereof, are secondary considerations..to ‘money’.

For all the good that government has intended for the less fortunate over the years, it has allowed generations to exist on welfare because wisdom was not a part of that plan. Some who receive it have behaved like it is their birthright. How sad to have no motivation beyond cashing a check that wasn’t earned. When I hear it said that we should spread the wealth, taxation by the government is spending millions of people’s hardworking tax dollars to enable this way of life. Government, to me, is for the people, of the people and by the people...not 535 individuals who sit and make plans for the rest of us, when they...the government would not want to live by the rules they put upon us. And it certainly isn’t just for those who have been enabled by the government to be dependent as a way of life.

Our government needs to be reorganized with fresh blood...fresh ideas...based on upholding the Constitution as it was written....and composed with the awareness and belief in God. Like the Bible is to a Christian, the Constitution is to an American. A re-birthing of our forefathers’ best intentions needs to occur if we are to prosper and continue as this great nation. And a re-birthing of our spiritual foundations needs to explode across our nation. Respect for human life, our land and our environment needs to be taught and practiced. Respect for the differences amongst ourselves needs to take place...including the practicing of all faiths. We need to work together to achieve these goals. Political persuasion is just a difference of opinion. There is not always a right and wrong, but perhaps a compromise for the good of the majority and without manipulation.

I am ever so grateful for my childhood when it occurred...when prayer was allowed in schools. The Pledge of Allegiance was something we all recited proudly. In our land today, one person’s religion is insulted by another’s...or lack of, and our government is not upholding the principals on which this country was founded by allowing handfuls of people to dictate to the masses. I believe no one should dictate a person’s beliefs. If one comes here and cannot abide by the rules and customs, they should leave; but our liberal thinkers have allowed even those who go against our Constitution to have a voice which has overtaken our’s despite what our Constitution states. This is not what our forefathers intended. It is the agenda of those whose thoughts and actions are clearly wrong because they do not have the American population’s best interest at heart.

Our government leaders have lost sight of why they are in Washington and who they represent. The promises made prior to elections give no comfort to those constituents who voted for them. We need people of action for the people and by the people. Get into the trenches with the average American. Play by the same rules...work for a similar rate of pay with a similar benefit structure which should be voted upon by the people and not by those in office. It is the American taxpayer dollars you are dealing with. You cannot serve the people if you hold yourselves up higher and with a separate set of rules and benefits. Trust is earned by he who is well-intentioned...for his behaviors are easily seen.

I want all Americans to participate in a “national” holiday for the American population....beyond a Day of Prayer, a day where “people of faith” can revisit the roots of their foundations. I want a day which is reserved whereby any American of any faith, religion or belief is acknowledged for the very right to do so. Look around the historic buildings in our nation’s capital and be reminded that we truly are “One nation under God”. Be willing to rethink the changes that have taken place by the removing of the school pray or the Pledge of Allegiance...or any Christmas holiday banning due to the thinking of a few who have no faith in anything other than proving they can control the government. Our government is disrespecting its own founding beliefs by not allowing Christian holiday celebrations in public arenas; yet, it seems to be trying to portray some sense of broad-mindedness for those who practice religious beliefs of Islam.

How often do you think you can slap the face of the American people and have them turn the other cheek? The best of Christians and Americans will fight for what is right. Government actions to restore this nation to what it once was is the biggest challenge it will ever have...and “God will bless us one and all”. For those who wish not to participate, so be it. This is America.

I am an American...proud and blessed by God to have been born here...in the land of the free...free to think my own thoughts, practice my own religion, work as hard or hardly as I choose, to reap the benefits of living in America on every level. I cherish the chance to pay my own way, live with every human luxury that I, myself am willing to work for if I so desire. My own heart will dictate what I can and will do to assist those in need. Every American has a birthright to experience these things. Government needs to scale back, play by the rules, stop changing the rules for the sake of money. When we give from our hearts, act as God would act, speak as God would speak, and behave as God would have us....the blessings of plenty, peace, freedom and prosperity will flourish. And for those with faith differing from my Christianity, may you know the strength of your foundation as I know mine. I respect our differences and ask only the same of you. Do not be so arrogant to think that there is no God, creator or superior force, and respect the fact that each person has the right to his/her own beliefs. That is the best freedom anyone can have in this great country.

If you feel helpless to do anything to better our country, you are not alone. It is the heavy burden of despair and the singleness of each individual that makes us each feel helpless, but joining our hearts in prayer with deliberate intention for the good of all is something we can all do...and do it effectively. Have faith that our voices will be heard by God...there is great strength in numbers.

I am asking that all “people of faith” re-dedicate him/herself to God...here and now. Let’s swamp our churches, spread the word, take back our birthrights to enjoy “freedom of religion”. Be proud of who you are...a God-loving American! Do it now...find your voice, unite with every other American who feels the same way about this country. Be counted, be strong, be heard. God bless this country and the people who love it. Do not be daunted by doubt...or inability to have an affect because we are individuals. Uniting our hearts and minds in prayer...without a single word spoken...can be the most powerful force for peace on earth. God will hear us when we speak to him.

Jeremiah 29:11
1. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I would like nothing better than this email to make its way around our great country. If you really want to participate and have an affect on the future of our country from a “spiritual uplifting” to an “American revival of spirit”, please make an effort to go to church...any church. Encourage your family, friends and neighbors to do the same. Talk this up with enthusiasm so that prayers in the greatest numbers are being offered throughout the nation. Have faith that even as individuals we can achieve the ultimate hope for our futures and the future of this great nation.

Faith

We stand united...a new understanding of life...of freedom.
We have joined our hearts and minds to go forward.
We look to God for our comfort.
We wait in great expectation.

Our hearts and souls reflect God’s desire for us
to have life eternal when he comes.
We look to God for HIS comfort...
'HE' waits in great expectation.
