Determined to Drive
Long-distance driving is quite an adventure
for one old and disabled like me,
especially considering I have to take
all these meds to make me wee!
You can't stop on the free-way
and this body can't crouch.
I must drive to the next stop
though the bladder yells 'Ouch!'
Getting fuel's a major challenge,
all self serve and I can't do that;
odd times when I've requested assistance
I have been turned down, totally flat.
I have learned I can appeal
to the chivalry in men,
sitting helpless at the wheel
while someone fills my tank...again!
