The First Breath of Winter
The first breath of Winter
Was stolen from me~
Hidden within the forest
of silvery birch trees.
Upon the newly fallen snow.
The moon glowing ~
Laying up against
the dark shading of the sky
Closing my eyes Welcoming the spirit
of Winter into my heart.
Frosted dreams from long ago drifting
by me...
Having been fulfilled they have
no place to go~
But to only vanish
into the shadowy mists of time.
Dainty scalloped snowflakes
floating down from the heavens
gently kiss the warm glow of my skin
Echoing their soft whispers in my ears
Upon angel wings silently fluttering
against my heart.
Silence over takes the quaking in my soul
As a Ivory feathered dove takes over to
fly in whispers of the Winter's wonderment
Embracing the sighs of gentleness that
surrounds the earth ~ Giving birth to
the perfect creation of snow.
Falling gracefully
from the blazing aura of heaven.
Encircling us and covering us with
its gentle blanket of virgin white.
With softness in heart we stand
embraced under the frosted
translucent moon upon the cradle
of love's soothing jubilant lullaby.
