Christmas Eve Wish

Winter's wrath has settled in
dangles from half frozen limbs
all alone 'n dreading night
wrapped in veils of purest white

Christmas Eve and here I stand
silence echoes 'cross the land
wishing hard with all my might
to find a home before dawn's light

Longing for some Christmas cheer
happy laughter ever near
yet...
here I am so all alone
trunk half frozen, knee deep snow

My essence of a pine perfume
will waltz with grace from room to room
spreading love as special gift
with twinkling eyes...
for inner peace

I'll fill your heart with smiles of joy
as sadness of the world deploys
share the warmth of ember's glow
from window...
watch soft glistening snow

I hope to be your favorite pick
just in time for 'Ole St. Nick
warm 'n cozy in new home
feeling loved with family close

Hymnals sung by candlelight
inner Spirit shining bright
gifts for children 'neath my dress
excitement on their morning face

Pretty paper red 'n gold
eggnog kisses, mistletoe
contentment felt...
in whispered sighs
hush of midnight, closing eyes

Angels, they will sing on high
sweetest voices, lullabies
peace on earth, good will toward men
harmony throughout the lands

Please...
grant my wish this Christmas Eve
choose me as your favorite tree
limbs half frozen dreading night
weeping 'neath cold veils of white
