Exploratory Words of Love

May I touch the spot you keep hidden deep in your heart,
bathed by the shadows of love lost on the run?
Your lover left you in the lurch when he chose to depart,
closing the blinds and never letting in the sun.

I realize that I’m a man also, but my desires are in sync
with the healing powers of belief and trust.
It would be the delight of my soul were you to think
this male harbors more emotions than lust.

Reach out and feel the warmth of my outstretched hand
while you look deeply into plaintive eyes.
Don’t tell me not to cross the line you’ve drawn in the sand,
I’m what you see before you, I sport no disguise.

If we both go on alone where is the happiness we deserve?
Take a chance; meld your desires with mine.
Duality in the cockpit of life means turbulence we’ll swerve,
the flight plan we take will be of our design.
