Winter to Spring

Icicles hanging from snow~capped eaves
Glisten as the sun tries to peak through
Wintry clouds high in the skies above
Each a prism of pink, green, blue

Snow~laden branches of the hardy evergreens
They look like a picture on a pretty postcard
The ponds like mirrors of shimmering glass
With their deep waters rendered hard

A herd of deer grazing on lone blades of grass
They stop and stare when anything nears
Like frozen statues of God's creations
So beautiful, it brings one to tears

The season also celebrates with Christmas spirit
Jesus Christ was born in a town in Bethlehem
As a man He spread the word of God
Far and wide across this great land

The beauty of winter can only be surpassed
With the glorious magnificence of spring
When all the flowers burst with color
Each day awakening as birds sing

Squirrels scamper up trees to build their dreys
Made of dried leaves and twigs in abound
Making the nesting places safe and snug
So their babies won't fall to the ground

The sun is bright and the skies are clear
The air as fresh as a mountain breeze
A million butterflies fluttering so free
All this can bring you to your knees

This season also celebrates the spirit of Easter
Jesus sacrificed and died for our mortal sins
Then arose from His grave to give us hope
That one day we shall walk with Him
