The Ouch is All Yours and Mine
Do you remember the last time you|
stubbed your big toe
or gave your head a good whack
getting in the car?
Has your back ever locked up on you for
reasons you don’t know?
If you’re old enough you've done it, each
leaving a mental scar.
These are reminders of our mortality,
being human often hurts,
and the names we call ourselves would
insult anyone else.
With today’s longevity once again the
painful pickle squirts,
leaving a throbbing discomfort, not to mention
There’s many books about child rearing
and animal husbandry
that when perused give you hints on
how to properly proceed.
I’ve never encountered a tome designed to
protect me and thee
from self inflicted oh no’s that make us
swell up, cringe or bleed.
It would do no good to tell you to be
kind to yourself because
there’s never a warning prefacing that
next stumble and fall.
The good Lord made us all susceptible to
these procedural flaws.
In His eyes He knows when you’re limping
it’s hard to stand tall.
