Your Ticket to Heaven

Was it the moon ~ Who softly spoke my name
While I sat alone outside Your window.
Liquid blue rain stained my dress
making me a mess for all to see.
I simply did not care about the state I was in
If they did not want to look ~ They could have
turned there back on me.
Many did... But it did not bother me.
I considered where it came from.
I simply turned and walked away
leaving them frozen in time.

I climbed the tallest tree
Just to prove I could.
I watched you staring up at me
And then I stuck out my tongue
and said... You're no better then me
You, with all Your high society friends
thinking Your better then everyone else
I got news for you buster
Get over yourself... You can never be like me
Although you can try.
You cannot change your destiny.
I like people from all walks of life
And when they turn around
I don't stab them with a knife
I have respect and dignity
What's that you say!
Oh I am sorry... Your money
does not interest me.

So I don't drive a Mercedes Benz
Or own a Limousine ~
I love my life just being me
I am free of guilt and of sin
Least I know where I have been
I can count my relationships on one hand
I don't own a black book or have dishpan hands
I have a good man and that's all I need
I am glad I am not you living with greed
Stop looking at me with lust in your eyes
Maybe you can buy your way into heaven
But I doubt you will succeed.
They don't care about money and power
up there, only the way you have treated others
While You were here!
Your kindness and good deeds
could take you far.

You can't buy a ticket to heaven
