True Blue Aussie

This wondrous place, Australia,
brown land and clear blue sky,
where hopes of rain see dreams in ruins,
where stock and the dreamers die.

Rugged coastlines, clean gold beaches,
where dolphins and tourists cavort;
the typical fair dinkum Aussie,
spends his weekends devoted to sport.

We're a multi-cultural hodge-podge,
our black heart reflecting the land,
with a deep pride in national achievement,
ever willing to lend mates a hand.

God gave us uniquely strange creatures,
like kookaburra, platypus and quokka;
come visit, join us for some tucker
and we'll show you a welcome that's Okker .

When the band strikes up Waltzing Matilda,
watch those folk with a tear in their eye;
you can bet they are true blue Australians,
we all are the same, even I.

Dedicated to
Hawk & Liz
my good mates.
So looking forward to your visit!
