Blessings Of The Day
At the end of a somewhat long disturbing day,
I think of blessings which have come our way.
There is plenty of food to eat, the bills are paid
we're rich in things that matter and don't evade.
A snow storm arrived, dumped piles of white,
kept on snowing through day and night.
Having to stay in for so long becomes a bore,
trying to stay busy is now the hardest chore.
So thankfull the electric stayed on all the time
thankful that we haven't started to whine.
Thankful for the computer and the telephone,
the television has made it a happier home.
Two retired people together every day,
start to begin to get into each other's way.
Still counting blessings and joining Starlite,
writing and reading poems is my best delight.
Happy to be able to reach out to others now,
to this one fact I am able to avow.
