Gentle Beauty

Every Sunday she gets up early
Fixing dinner before the service
Peels an entire bag of potatoes
-A lot of labor just to feed us

She slows a little, rubs her hands
A smile remains upon her face
Never is she heard complaining
She works with quiet grace

Scrubbing floors and doing dishes
Happy to go the extra mile
Always willing to take the kids
So you can go out a little while

You’d describe her as quite homely
A little on the chubby side
But I see in her gentle beauty
Where love in her spirit does reside

If I could only be more like her
She had a connection with the Lord
Here on earth she lived on nothing
But in heaven she’s found reward
