The New Generation Gap

I often wonder if everyone who lives to be old reach
the time in their life when dreams and memories seem,
to become more exciting and interesting than,
the reality they now face, in the battle of life's scheme.

After retirement days seem like hours, hours like weeks
time travels in fast lane, we seniors have trouble keeping pace,
Monday just arrived, then Saturday again made it's appearance.
taking pills, watching diet, knowing youth we can't replace.

New movies seem to have been made somewhere in outer space
directed and produced by weirdos from another dimension,
created for the younger generation who know not, 'I Love Lucy'
or 'Lassie' and others that still can hold our attention.

New technology and modern strange working of the brain
leave us feeling indisposed and left out of our own world,
as I guess the forefathers thought about our generation also
when new thoughts and ideas of our day were first unfurled.
