Cast Off all Lines
I’ve laid in provisions, enough for a week.
We’re shipshape and our flag is flying.
The dreamscapes we both mutually seek
are on the horizon of the sea we’re spying.
You’ve always looked smart in deck shoes,
like a sailor who knows the salt air.
Stars and sextant help you, the sky to peruse,
there’s no posted road signs out there.
You may cast off the lines as I man the helm
steering out of port, with wind to the lee.
My joyous heart is bordering on overwhelmed,
you decided to come sail away with me.
The open ocean beckons two to her breeze
that fits like a dressing gown of mist.
Often have I dreamed of days such as these,
by woman and elements I’ll be kissed.
