No longer There

Where is she?
Why would she leave?
What made her disappear with no clue?
Still, in the distance of his mind, he sees the reflections of her shadow.

Was it a mirage?
Illusions?
His subconscious playing with hopeless emotions?
Nothing but empty traces on the window,

Will he ever see her?
Will she come back?
Yet, she really never was his,
Could there be something else afar, beyond him that beckons?

Only in his fantasies
does she return,
To quench this burning flame,
Then, reality darkens his heart, for he knows:
She is no longer there.
