Strawberry Fields Forever

Easy street is empty now
and lonely street so blue,
on the boulevarde of broken dreams
where once I walked with you.

Lovers lane, at the intersection
of the long and winding road
is a superb place to leave one's fears
on the route to my abode.

Show me the way to go home, old mate;
is it there, down the wallaby track,
or down a primrose path of hopefulness
where winners never look back?

No more of the lonesome trail for me,
I'm heading down Penny Lane,
which is the road paved with good intentions,
nothing to lose and all to gain.
