My Lake Sights

My Lake Sights

I am sitting here alone,
Looking off the deck at the lake.
And while contemplating nature,
My eyes happen upon a snake.
Meandering through the rocks and grass,
Just looking for some shade.
When suddenly in the water,
Appears a geese parade.
Lined up as if they're marching,
Just as straight as a line could be.
And then as I look up to the skies,
A graceful hawk in flight I see.
With a fish in tow he carries,
Maybe to feed a little one.
Time is getting late,
As I see the setting sun.
What a sight, a marvelous sight,
Everyday a wonder to behold.
Living here is like a fairy tale,
More exciting each time it's told.
