Misfortune's Child

It seems I'm always hearing NO,
I've far to go, I'm Thursday's child.
Lady Luck made her appearance.
She glanced my way, but, never smiled.

The tendrils of misfortune
Like ivy, coil around my door.
If someone said, yes, oh yes,
It would thrill me to the core .

I've read my Horoscope a time or two.
Those predictions only angered me.
I knew they'd not come true.
Misfortune's tendrils won't set me free.
