Get Rid Of The Advertisements

The Last Breath

The final breath is drawn
The eyes begin to close
Where does he travel now
That answer no-one knows

For pain had struck his life
Fate intervened it's part
He fought til the last moment
Til the last beat of his heart

As he said goodbye, so silently
With face turning ever pale
They prayed to god, a miracle
Would somehow now prevail

But god's gift was to take him
And shelter him from pain
Free the bird inside the soul
To roam the skies again

As the air drained from his body
He lay there ever still
May the dreaded world I leave behind
Lead me to shores of life fullfilled
