Inspired To Inspire

Please watch the video
before reading my poem.

Do not let what you cannot do
interfere with what you can do.
John Wooden

Imagine...born without any limbs,
what could your future possibly hold?
Unable to do much at all for yourself,
what happens when Mum and Dad get old?

I know such a man, a wonderful man,
an Aussie, through and through;
I know he carries a 'foreign' name
but we are multi-cultural too.

Nick's is a powerful message of hope,
inspiring the hopeless to strive.
Despite what he lacks Nick lets them know
it's a privilege to be alive.

If the opportunity ever comes
when you will get to meet Nick,
don't miss out on being inspired,
grab hold of the chance...and quick!

On two occasions, Nick has come
to address our homeless and lost.
He speaks from the depths of an enormous heart,
no question of payment or cost.

Let each human being be thus inspired
to achieve the best he can.
If Nick can achieve so much with so little,
there is hope for any man!
