Get Rid Of The Advertisements

sonnet in honor of things that shine

the tiny crystal spheres on leaves at dawn
the innocense seen in a baby's eyes
the silver lining, once the cloud has gone
the diamonds strewn about the twilight skies

the sunshine glancing off the waves at sea
the feelings in a heart because of love
and tinsel strands upon the christmas tree
or snowflakes ere they melt upon the glove

the ringing laughter as the children play
the candle light that dances for a breeze
the gift of newness granted us each day
the gratitude i feel for all of these

resilience of the mind, behind a tear
and yes, my own reflection in the mirror
