Thanksgiving Day

The aromas are intoxicating.
Delicious foods, anticipating.
Oh, but, worth the waiting.

The house is so cozy and warm.
Everyone made it safely home.
Gather 'round the table this wonderful day.
Let us all give thanks as we pray:

Lord we are grateful for so many things.
The everyday joys Your love brings.
For family, for this bounty, for love we share.
There will always be that empty chair.

Thanksgiving is that wonderful day,
When we come together, family and friends,
With open arms and open hearts,
Giving thanks that never ends.

For my grandson Jeremy
He spends his Thanksgivings in Heaven.
