Sweet Caroline
Runaround Sue had run away with Johnny B. Good
Sweet Caroline wondered, 'Where Did Our Love Go?'
Mustang Sally had seen his Hot Rod Lincoln last night
Parked in the last row at the drive-in picture show
Why does it Hurt So Bad when You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling?
You may as well ask, 'Where Have All The Flowers Gone?'
Pushin' Too Hard, A Whiter Shade Of Pale you've become
Even In The Midnight Hour, It's The Same Old Song
I heard Louie, Louie suggest, 'Let's Spend The Night Together'
And Jimmy Mack asked her out too, he Ain't Too Proud To Beg
Then Simon Says, 'There Ain't No Mountain High Enough'
Or a girl alive who could ever take me away from my keg!
( hiccup )
Sugar Pie Honey Bunch wanted to go to Pallisades Park
To Twist And Shout More Today Than Yesterday!
It's over on South Street down by The Moody River
They were presenting an Ode To Billy Joe that same day
In a Purple Haze from drinking too much Red, Red Wine
Sugar yelled, 'Hang On Sloopy! Comin' up on Deadman's Curve!'
When A Boy Named Sue jumped right out in front of them
He could have been a Teen Angel if she hadn't swerved
Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds was watching from on high
It was like one of those 'White Rabbit in the hat' tricks
She swooped down, snatched him up and said, 'I Got You Babe!'
While shedding 96 Tears and laying it on real thick
Suddenly a Red Rubber Ball appeared Like A Rolling Stone
They should be singing, 'They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!'
As the ball spoke, I'm A Believer and The Son Of A Preacher Man'
But there was a time, so long ago, when I was bad and I Fought The Law
She woke up thinking, wow! I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night'
With the curve and the talking ball! It was all like an Psychotic Reaction!
Then she looked out her window, she saw Sue and Johnny so Happy Together
They were trying to Do The Freddie in the hot California Sun
The Girl From Ipanema decided to pay her a little visit
So she put out Incense and Peppermints to appease her
Then she rambled on and on leaving no room for other conversation
And ended by just saying, 'I can't forget The Way We Were!'
Hon, If You Wanna Be Happy, you gotta Give Peace A Chance
Then she mentioned a new friend of hers and his name was Ringo!
The Leader Of The Pack, he was loaded with Money, and handsome too
After a whirlwind romance, they got married at the Winchester Cathedral!
With his 'People Just Got To Be Free' and 'Born To Be Wild' philosophy
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy
Oouu baby,I Think We're Alone Now! Come here and Light My Fire!
~*~
Remember What The World Needs Now Is Love
Forever and always Stand By Your Man,
Teach Your Children some good Sweet Soul Music!
It will lift your spirits even Higher And Higher!
