She Lingers

Misty whispers of morning,
Gather on colored leaves,
She looks on with out seeing,

For he was the only one,

The autumn breeze blows bitter,
Sweet is her memories of him,
Yet lonely is all she feels now,

For he was the only one,

Winter chill is coming,
She misses warm kisses on her cheek,
As falling leaves appear to mock her,

For he was the only one,

Looking on she lingers,
Remembering days of yore,
Holding hands as they walked life’s path,

For he was the only one.
