Bottle Booty
Way down in the gully dwelt a muddle headed wombat,
too portly to be digging, far too genial for combat.
One night he was seeking food beneath a gnarled wattle
when, to his surprise, he uprooted a bright green bottle.
'Ho ho!' said the wombat, 'I'll gather this little beauty
and take it to lizard who collects such fine booty.'
Greedy, grumpy old lizard needed no prod nor no urging;
his pulses were racing and his blood pressure was surging.
'You should have dug deeper, think what you have missed,'
through clenched teeth the ungrateful, mean and nasty reptile hissed.
