Daisies For A Lady

Everlasting daisies, brilliant colours;
petals like paper in eternal bouquets,
marvellous Mondays to brighten the house up,
crafty and clever in hundreds of ways.

Michaelmas daisies with soft mauvy petals,
picked every Tuesday for somebody's wife;
to colour a dreary day, provide a melody,
lighten a heavy heart in each little life.

African daisies, colours amazing,
she loved these gay rainbows with dark intense hearts;
Wednesdays are wonderful, cheered by their presence,
hitting sad human hearts with bright rainbow darts.

Perky pyrethrums, shoo nasty insects,
save buying fly spray and pretty to boot.
Soft white, white petals with lovely lime centres,
Thursday we're shopping and don't give a hoot.

Friday we've fancy wee federation daisies,
tiny white pom-pons to bob up and down.
Forget the sadness, fill hearts with gladness,
that's what she'd be saying, no need to frown.

Saturday's bloom is the gloriosa daisy,
all shades of yellow and orange ones too.
Imagining life bereft of our sweet friend,
it's amazing what a dose of bright colour can do.

Begin a new week with the sweet shasta daisy,
delighting our Sunday, our special treat.
Pure white, fresh petals, centres all golden,
what we think of as daisies, innocent, sweet.

For Renee I've given you sprinkles of daisies,
a daisy a day ...there are so many more;
asters and gerberas, sweet black-eyed susans,
simple heart messages, straight to the core.

In memory of a precious friend
Renee Nicole
with gratitude
and love.
