Just Before Dawn
The basin of morning gloom surrounds us here
Awaiting the rolling mission of the sun.
Gentle wafting winds are sent to aptly steer
Upstart zephyrs, whose spirit can’t be outrun.
Above turgid pools where tadpoles are begun
These insistent breezes are so wont to loll.
This progression of nature is not undone
As each moment accedes to survival’s call.
Spend well your time on this most nurturing mall,
Soak in its reverential, enthralling broth.
Temper onset of false pride, avoid the fall,
Speak words of honor from deep within the cloth.
Throw open your arms to embrace the new day,
The gist of your moments in mist paves your way.
