Get Rid Of The Advertisements

frozen back in time

Nineteen
fifty three
was the
year,
and we
the handsome
duo
for a time
from the
dark lagoon,
'n then
she sent
me
packing~~~~~
for the year
'n didn't
want
me near
or
anymore
and just
a darkly
written
smitten
metaphor.

~~~~~~~
Two years
went by,
and I
was healed,
but the thrill
'twas naught
forgotten
as if
first love
'twas of
the learning
tree
so free
agreed
upon
by two
of me
and you
distanced
within an
instant
of dismissal.
~~~~~~~~

Two years
went by,
and then one
night she came
four
hundred
miles and
more
to claim my
love
within the
middle of the
night,
with no
wishful moon
to shed it's
light
upon the
gambling gal
within a
game of
romantic
chance,
or would
she be
just a pal
away from me
forever so
into the
unknown?

~~~~~~~~~
Broken
tokenisms,
and frozen
back in time,
and I naught
owned
but free
to be as me,
to seak
and search
to find
someone else
somewhere
over there
away beyond
those hills
in waiting
there
and wanting
someone
such as I,
and so I
think she
cried~~~~~
a tune
too late,
'twas fate
indeed.
~~~~~~~~

Feelings
frozen back
in time
are mine
within the
gloaming~~~
remembering
within the
dying embers
of the
campfire
just by
the river
of no return.
