The Perfect Rose

The Perfect Rose

For some love keeps passing them by
Like a mere stranger on the street
And for some love can be ever painful
I guess you could say it's bittersweet
To experience true love, if only just once
Just to taste, even for a moment, it's bliss
It can fill you with memories for a lifetime
You will always remember your first kiss
Roses or thorns, love can be compared to
'I love you' as conveyed by a lovely red rose
Could be the first step of your life together
Down on your knees you're about to propose
There's nothing in the world like being in love
Just be leery of the rose's thorns though
When least expected, they can draw blood
And reel your heart to such depths so low
The secret is to strip the stem of all it's thorns
Without them it's beauty unaffected still glows
It may not a perfect flower like it was before
Yet, between two lovers it can be the perfect rose
