Comfortable?

Perhaps life is too comfy
as you vegetate with ease;
a special chair that’s yours alone,
you’re doing as you please.

Large draught of favourite beverage,
feet elevated…aahh!
Endless supplies of munchies,
your home where you’re the star.

Relax now, save your energy,
after all you’ve earned your rest
…but supposing God disturbed you,
requiring that you take a test.

He told Jonah, “Go to Nineveh”,
but Jonah went the other way.
We all know Jonah’s fishy tale…
he repented the third day.

“Why me, God?” questioned Moses,
when the Lord exposed His plan.
“It’s elementary Moses,
here’s the deal and you’re the man!”

Be listening for instructions
to eliminate the strife;
follow closely, forget ego;
recall the fate of poor Lot’s wife.
